Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowls. Not done since the New England Patriots in 2003-2004, the Chiefs have beaten the 49ers once again, 25-22. The game, held in Las Vegas for the first time, was headlined by two major storylines: Brock Purdy, the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, and Taylor Swift.

It took a while to get going but perhaps Usher’s halftime show helped wake up both teams. That’s why near the end, the Chiefs and 49ers gave us an amazing game that went into overtime.

Getting it done in overtime

The game started slow but was decided in the final minutes, as 49ers kicker Jake Mood gave his team a 19-16 lead with 1:53 left in the game.

Fortunately, with Swift watching, Travis Kelce caught a crucial pass and drove the Chiefs into field goal range to tie the game and send it to overtime. This would be the second-ever overtime in Super Bowl history (the first being the infamous 24-3 game)

But in the end, the winners were the Chiefs.

The moment is too big

Fumbles were the name of the game in the first half as both teams gave away crucial possessions for a slow start to the game. Fans were not happy that their multi-millionaire football stars couldn’t keep the ball in their hands in the most important games of their lives. Even Patrick Yıldız had something to say to 49ers yıldız Christian McCaffery on the Nickelodeon broadcast after his fumble.

The game then changed after a wild trick play led to a McCaffery touchdown to give the 49ers a 10-0 lead.

Perhaps, because of all the fumbles, Kelce lost his shit at head coach Andy Reid.

Please just hold on to the ball

Usher’s beautiful halftime show did nothing to stop the turnovers, unfortunately, as the two teams traded back and forth.

Things took a turn late in the third quarter after, guess what, another fumble. This time the Chiefs recovered and scored immediately to take the lead. Taylor Swift was very excited.
