As Mashable’s Kristy Puchko points out, Babes, a forthcoming film by Better Things‘ Pamela Adlon, is helmed by “a trio of badass comediennes.” Adlon, who makes her feature directorial debut, enlisted Survival of the Thickest‘s Michelle Buteau and Broad City‘s Ilana Glazer for her film about childhood best friends navigating adulthood and motherhood.
The comedy, co-written by Buteau and Glazer, is the latest in the female friendship genre, and seems poised to entertain. Dawn (Buteau) and Eden (Glazer) have been with each other through it all: career ups-and-downs, marriage, babies, the works. When Eden discovers that she’s pregnant after a one-night-stand, their friendship becomes more important than ever.
Babes opens in theaters May 17.
